[Ceremony+Reception] Private Residence, Holland, MI

When I first met with Shelly and Kevin and told me the plans of their casual beach wedding overlooking Lake Michigan, I knew I was going to enjoy their day.  The morning of their wedding, the skies were blue, there was a gentle breeze and the day was just as they had described…laid back, casual, perfect.  With a ceremony on the lawn overlooking a sparkling Lake Michigan and a cocktail hour immediately following, the guests looked just as relaxed as this sweet couple. Sandmann’s was there to grill dinner and the night ended with dancing and fireworks on the beach.

I loved that Shelly’s two daughters walked her down the aisle and Kevin’s daughter was his ‘best’ girl.  It was small and intimate and true to this sweet family.

When talking to this sweet couple about their engagement session, Amanda mentioned that she and Shannon often went to nearby Millenium Park to play frisbee, skip stones and walk the trails.  Shannon even proposed to Amanda here! So it was a natural choice for the location of their session.

I learned that this couple loves to travel and heard about some of the amazing vacations they have gone on together…Ireland, Colorado and a honeymoon planned for the Mediterranean.  I love their spirit and their willingness to explore new places together. I am going to take a lesson from them and plan a vacation soon!

Brianna and Andrew had a perfect June wedding and I was absolutely delighted to be a part of it!  Brianna is definitely a girl after my own heart, with a penchant for pink, glammed-up shoes and anything fabulous.  I recently read a Tweet from another wedding professional (and if I could remember from whom it was from I would certainly give credit) that said you could tell a lot about a girl from the wedding dress she chooses.  I find this to definitely be true, and Brianna chose a dress that was absolutely true to her and her style.  I loved the fit, the luxurious fabric and my favorite part..the lovely bow on the back.  Their color scheme of pinks, corals and golds proved also to be perfect…the flowers at the reception were some of the prettiest I’ve seen.

This seriously cute couple beamed at each other all day…and their love and graciousness extended to their friends and family. Brianna and Andrew - I wish you nothing but happiness in your lives together.  Thank you again for allowing me to document your day!

Tracy and Ryan are the super sweetest couple!  They live on this pretty little lake and thought this would be the perfect spot for their engagement session. I couldn’t have agreed more! With nearby fields and a little cruise on their rowboat, they celebrated their engagement doing the things they loved the most.  I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding this August!

Three years ago I photographed Catrina and Dave’s wedding day.  Two years ago the arrival of their little Abby. And last week I documented little baby Maxwell…just two weeks old.  Completely adorable.  Watching families grow is such an amazing part of my occupation!

Catrina and Dave have this lovely overgrown field right behind their house so we started out enjoying the summer morning playing outdoors while Maxwell cuddled up on my trusty yellow chair.

Maxwell’s older sister Abby…I cannot believe this little one is two years old already!

Maxwell’s grandma was spending some time helping the growing family out and there was no way we were letting her leave without some pictures with her new grandson and granddaughter!
