All of these amazing engagement sessions lately are making me so excited for this coming wedding season!

I met Kelly and Matt this past weekend in their hometown of Chicago for their engagement session.  Upon meeting Kelly, I knew right away that this session was going to be all kinds of fabulous.  We walked around the eclectic streets of Old Town, taking in all it had to offer with it’s colorful doors, stoops and streets.

I must say, for as much as I dislike the cold of winter, I sure have been enjoying my sessions these past few months!

Last month I announced that I would be launching an offshoot of Amy Carroll Photography dedicated soley to couture pet portraiture.  A website and information is still in the works but I couldn’t wait to show a few of my first official shoot with little Ruby, an English Mastiff-mix that my good friend Michele and her husband recently rescued.  She was as sweet as could be…playing sleeping and doing what puppies do best…look completely adorable!

For nearly two and half years straight I used to publish a Picture of the Day. A challenge to myself to stretch myself creatively and pick up my camera daily.  I played with lighting, composition, and looked for beauty and unusualness in everyday objects.  As my business picked up more and more, once a day slowly became maybe once a week and I eventually stopped posting all together.

I finally decided to challenge myself to do this again…pick up my camera every day and shoot for myself.  Find something interesting, or maybe not interesting at all.  But to be consistent in stretching myself.  I decided to finally start a Flickr account and use it to post my images.  If you’d like to follow along, you can view my photo stream here.  If you’d like to join me in the challenge, I’d love to follow yours!

It has been a long long while since I’ve blogged any personal pictures, or actually, even had the time to take personal pictures.  I adore birds and every time I head out to visit my parents I love to take my camera along and enjoy the many birds that visit my mom’s feeder.  They hop from feeder to the nearby little tree and happily pose for the camera. Just wanted to share a few pictures of the little feathered lovlies that were out and about that day!

I’ve been blessed to photograph cute 6 month-olds lately.  Hunter was no exception.  Cute overload! And check out those lovely lashes.
