The fabulous Daisy sent me an email saying that her and Greg had taken a drive up north and there they were! On a billboard!
Thank you Daisy for sending this over to me this morning. I love this picture of the two of you
You can see the original picture from their preview post last year from their Homestead wedding in Glen Arbor here.

Karrie and Rob’s wedding was everything I knew it was going to be…fun and filled with personality! I love this couple and from the time I shot their engagement session last fall, I knew I was going to enjoy shooting their wedding. The ceremony was held at Kuyper College’s Chapel and the reception at St. George’s in downtown Grand Rapids. Between the ceremony and reception we hit up some of my favorite shooting spots in the downtown area.

I heart colored wedding shoes.

One of my favorite moments of the day is when the groom sees his bride for the first time. One of my other favorites is when the dad sees his daughter as a bride for the first time.

Karrie was a gorgeous bride!! Love love love her green eyes!

See what I mean about the green eyes!

Sisters!

Oh silly boys…

My second-shooter for the day: The super cute and super fab Jamie of Color Splash Studios (and the designer of my lovely blog!) I had such a fun time working with this girl! I was also grateful for a similar shoe size when after I snapped my heel during the ceremony (maybe that will teach me to wear flats when I shoot) she gave me a cute pair to wear for the rest of the day. Thanks again!!

Can anyone guess what song they might be singing to Karrie here?

Deanna and Ryan’s wedding at the Frederick Meijer Gardens was nothing short of totally fabulous! With an evening ceremony, a fabulous cocktail hour and a line-up of some incredible vendors, the day couldn’t have gone more smoothly. I also had along the ever-fabulous Darrin Wassom second shooting the event with me.
Aletha of Pearls Events was on hand to keep things on track and make everything look lovely, Shelly of Shelly’s Designs produced the amazing yellow flowers, DJames was keeping the party rocking. The Shutter Booth company was also at the reception providing some extra fun and memories for the guests.
The day was perfect…an amazing spring day with an amazing couple, wedding party and family.

Guess what this couple’s favorite show is?

Deanna + Ryan : : Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of this day. I hope the honeymoon was absolutely fabulous and you put that new lens to good use!
This past week I joined my fellow photogs and friends for a few days of learning and inspiration at this year’s OSP Indy photography workshop. After attending last year’s event and meeting some seriously amazing photographers, I was even more excited to go back this year to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones!
We heard from amazing photographers: Mark Adams with LaCour and Shoot Q, Kevin Swan with Kiss Albums, Amber Holritz and the fabulous Bobbi of Bobbi+Mike!
I came away from these three days inspired, excited and ready to make this year even more fabulous than before. I have new ideas brewing and can’t wait to bring them to life! Stay tuned!
This gorgeous retro model is none other than the amazing Brandi Brown. She spoke at last year’s event and literally changed how I approached children’s photography. Beautiful and incredibly talented!

Mark Adams and his beard. This man is incredibly talented. We took off on a little creative shoot with a group of photographers one afternoon and he challenged the way we look at light. Enlighting!

Our model was follow photographer Sarah Parent. She is SO beautiful and was totally working it.

This bright perfect blue? It was a dumpster in a back ally. And it totally worked!

Some of the group following my favorite mantra: Ask forgiveness, not permission

The beard. I couldn’t help but take pictures!

A little impromptu maternity session…

Being resourceful…who needs a flash? Reflect off a menu!

My girl Jen!

The last day of OSP, we split into four groups. The fabulously fun Bobbi was in mine and she was showing us just why she’s so amazing.
Our theme for the challenge…Unusual. I think this fits!

So another year done and over. Can’t wait for next year! Thanks again to all those who put this event together.
