Friday, September 30, 2011 - Holland, MI

Kristen and Aaron’s wedding day was threatened by rain but didn’t dampen either of their spirits. Thankfully, 5 minutes before they were set to see each other, the skies turned bright blue with the sun shining.  And immediately after their wedding ceremony, a rainbow spread all across the sky.  God truly blessed this sweet couple’s day!

Kristen worked so hard on so many of the pretty details of their wedding day.  She made the girl’s hangers, hair pieces, her own hair piece, so many of the reception details…I could go on and on.  This beautiful bride is one talented girl and I know her and Aaron are going to have a beautiful life together. They both have amazing and supportive friends and families and I couldn’t have been happier to be a part of their day.  Love to my dear friend Kelly Braman for being there to second shoot with me!

One of my favorite details of the day…Kristen carried the same Bible that her mom and grandmother carried down the aisle of their wedding day.  Such a beautiful legacy!

Saturday, September 24, 2011 - Traverse City, MI

Here I sit, fresh from going through images from Emily and Nick’s beautiful and emotional wedding day, with so much I want to say about these two. First of all, they are warm and sweet and gracious people.  They made me feel completely at home with their friends and family.  I felt part of the day…not only as a photographer but as a person vested in celebrating this day with them.

Their day was intimate…Emily’s sister was her maid-of-honor, Nick’s best friend his best man.  We drove the beautiful Old Mission penninsula for pictures before the ceremony and when it came time for them to say ‘I do’ it was with their closest friends and family overlooking the water. It was small and intimate and followed by a cozy dinner at North Peak (YUM!) in downtown Traverse City.

These two will be celebrating with a bigger audience later this month for an ‘at-home’ reception and I’m already excited to see them again for Part II of their celebration.

Emily and Nick - you know I adore you both and I couldn’t be happier to have been part of your celebration.  Hugs to you both!!

Nick’s best man Jim is no stranger to my camera. He and is beautiful wife Jessica were in front of it just a few years prior!

Saturday, September 10, 2011 - Pentwater, MI

Aubrey and Kyle had incredible vision for their wedding day. They planned and created an eclectic mix of vintage and rustic mixed with a romantic wedding on the shores of Lake Michigan.  The day was filled with warm temperatures and sunshine. With love and laughter.

The wedding was held at a private residence in Pentwater and catered and planned by Patricia and Rene with Catered Creations, Inc. out of Grand Rapids. They ran with Aubrey and Kyle’s ideas and helped create their perfect wedding day.

This sweet couple was married on the beach with a reception overlooking the water.  After their first dance, Aubrey and Kyle and their guests ran down to the beach as the sun was setting and lit sky lanterns to release together. It was a site to behold…dozens of sweetly lit lanterns dotting the colored sky.  A day I will remember as a perfect Michigan wedding with a couple who I simply adore.  Aubrey+Kyle - I wish you so much happiness in your lives together!

Aubrey’s and her bridesmaids put all of the bouquets and boutineers together themselves.  Succulents and dalias and pretty colors? They did an incredible job!
