Jalen is the type of person I wished I had been in high school…one who marches to the beat of his own drum (or guitar in this case), has great hair and not afraid to show his personality.  His session was great from start to finish.  And just like his brother, who’s senior pictures I took over three years ago (!! time flies!), it was hard to take a bad picture of this one.

I will never tire of watching these little ones grow up…seeing them each year, a little older, a little taller, and a lot more talkative!

Madeline has been in front of my camera since she was 6 months old…still with those big, soulful eyes and sweet expressions.  She’s not yet four, but this little one’s vocabulary and mannerisms had me laughing our whole session.  A very literal little girl, when I assigned her to a task (sniff this flower Madeline!) she does it with every ounce of enthusiasm she can muster.  My favorite part of the whole session was when I let her look back at some of her pictures and she laughed that deep, cute belly laugh that made her mom and I laugh right along with her.  I left the session with a happy heart.

Saturday, August 7, 2010 - Whitehall, MI

Liz and Matt’s wedding day was one of those perfect lakeside summer days…cool breezes, warm air and bright blue skies.  This wedding was also full of personal touches, fabulous details and Liz and Matt’s vision came together seamlessly!

Liz’s summers growing up were spent with her grandparents in Whitehall. The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking Lake Michigan at her grandmother’s historic lakeside cottage.  Pictures were taken at the yacht club, beaches and favorite spots Liz remembers fondly from childhood.  The reception was at Michillinda Lodge with a tented reception and an outdoor cocktail hour.  What I loved most was watching Liz and Matt together…these two light up any room they are in!

Liz and Matt - I hope you know how hard it was to narrow down pictures for your blog post…you two are the sweetest! I hope your honeymoon was amazing!!

Meanwhile…

The girls from J Salon in Grand Rapids were AMAZING! Straight razor shaving for the guys and they rocked the girls’ hair and makeup.

This arbor has been in Liz’s family for decades…a true vintage arbor and so pretty!!

After the ceremony I had Liz and Matt all to myself for some pretty pictures.  The below porch is Liz’s grandmothers and she sat as a little girl on this swing every summer.

Liz, who works at Lululemon in Colorado, is an avid yoga-er and was showing off her wicked yoga skills!

Congratulations to Cheryl and James who were married outdoors overlooking Gull Lake yesterday!

Alyssa is beautiful inside and out!

This adorable senior attends Northview High School, plays soccer, run cross country and is all-around fabulous.  For her session, we walked the pretty streets of downtown Holland and enjoyed some time at the beach.  Her outfits were well-planned and I think she and I could be great shopping buddies…I loved her cute clothes!
