Kailey+John [engaged] October 12, 2011 2 Comments

Words are not my strong suit and thinking about all the adjectives to accurately express these two just falls short.  In a nutshell, Kailey and John are full of life and laughter and love for one another.  These two reside together in Tennessee, met in Colorado and getting married in Michigan.  They love to be outside and their requests for their engagement session were to take in the water of Lake Michigan and some romantic pictures in a lovely field.  Bonus? Their black lab Bailey joined us as well as Kailey’s mom, who I now completely adore, and am even more looking forward to their wedding next June.

Lindsay + Scott [engaged] October 10, 2011 1 Comment

Lindsay and Scott are getting married next summer on the shores of Gun Lake…an area near and dear to my own heart as I grew up near to this pretty inland lake!

I loved everything about this session, not only because Sloan, Lindsay’s show dog joined us (love me some dogs!), but because I couldn’t wait to see Lindsay again and meet her fiance’ Scott.  They drove over from their home on the other side of the state and we walked downtown in the streets of Grand Rapids.  Fall was in the air but the temperatures felt like summer. It was a beautiful afternoon all around.

And major props to Scott…who despite his discomfort at being watched with the crowds from ArtPrize during their session, did amazing.  I adore you both!

You knew I had to give Sloan his own mini-session.

This adorable Lansing-based couple is getting married next summer.  Despite some uncertain Michigan weather in planning their engagement session earlier this summer, we finally caught our break and relished in the early fall weather.

I love learning my clients’ stories and personalities during their engagement sessions. Hearing how they met, got engaged and the details of their wedding day.  Nicole and John’s session was no exception and I loved working with these two!  I am always even more excited for the wedding day after working with my sweet couples.  These two have amazing style and I loved their clothing choices for their engagement session!

I’m not sure if there is anything more perfect than a warm fall day. Except perhaps capturing two people in love on said, warm fall day.

I met Lindsey and Dan on the well-groomed campus of  Cranbrook…a location I was delighted to photograph at!  Upon meeting this sweet couple, I knew we were in for a great session. These two are warm, sincere and authentic together. I greatly enjoyed our session and am eager for the wedding next summer!

Stephanie + Bryce [two years] September 6, 2011 1 Comment

Stephanie and Bryce were married two years ago in undeniably one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve been witness to.  The ceremony took place outside a little schoolhouse off a country road in Northern Michigan. Bryce sang his vows. Their dog Morty was the only member of their wedding party.  Their guests were treated to sweet homemade pies and handmade favors and the music by Bear Lake (which by the way is one very talented Michigan band) had everyone dancing.  I still have clients mention their sweet wedding.

Two years later, we both happened to be in Glen Arbor on the same weekend…their anniversary weekend…and it was too perfect not to return to the scene of where they said their vows and do an anniversary session. It’s no surprise I adore these two and had way too much fun seeing and working with them again.  Bryce had his guitar again and I shot while he sang and played. Stephanie (a budding photographer herself!) sang along with him. As the sun glowed warmly in the late day, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
