I first met Lisa last May when she stood up as Cindy and Adam’s maid-of-honor and when she contacted me a few months ago announcing her own engagement, I couldn’t be more excited!

Lisa and Adam met at Michigan State and we headed there last week for their engagement session.  We enjoyed strolling the campus and hitting some of their favorite spots.  These two are so sweet and I am delighted to be shooting their wedding next Spring!  Lisa is a photographer herself, and I loved chatting all things photography with her.

I just adored Lisa’s dress and sassy shoes and Adam, though a little uncomfortable in the muggy weather, was a total sweetheart!

When talking to this sweet couple about their engagement session, Amanda mentioned that she and Shannon often went to nearby Millenium Park to play frisbee, skip stones and walk the trails.  Shannon even proposed to Amanda here! So it was a natural choice for the location of their session.

I learned that this couple loves to travel and heard about some of the amazing vacations they have gone on together…Ireland, Colorado and a honeymoon planned for the Mediterranean.  I love their spirit and their willingness to explore new places together. I am going to take a lesson from them and plan a vacation soon!

Tracy and Ryan are the super sweetest couple!  They live on this pretty little lake and thought this would be the perfect spot for their engagement session. I couldn’t have agreed more! With nearby fields and a little cruise on their rowboat, they celebrated their engagement doing the things they loved the most.  I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding this August!

Are Mandy and Aaron not the most adorable couple?!

This super sweet duo is getting married next June and for their engagement session, they wanted something outdoors…barefoot walks, holding hands, being in love.  As soon as they stepped on front of the camera they were as natural as could be.  Aaron scored mega bonus points right at the beginning of the shoot…picking a tiny pink wild rose and putting it in Mandy’s hair. No prompting, no staged shot…gold star for Aaron! The rest of the shoot flowed along just as naturally…the threat of rain overhead not worrying any of us.  Just a lovely engagement session celebrating their love for each other.

There is nothing quite as fun as wandering around the city with clients I adore, learning about their life together…how they met, what their plans for the future are, all the fabulous details of their upcoming wedding.  Such was the case with the adorable Kristen and Dan.  We met up last week in Detroit to wander to some favorite spots and enjoying (and slightly melting in!) the warm temperatures.

Kristen tried to tell me that she wasn’t photogenic. I think you will all agree that she had to have been joking ;)  Kristen - you are fabulous and and you and Dan could not be cuter together!  You know I can’t wait until your wedding in September!! Enjoy your preview ;).
