When Mother’s Day was just around the corner, Danielle and her siblings thought the perfect gift for their mom would be a family picture session…something this family hadn’t done since they were small little ones.  So Danielle contacted me, purchased a gift certificate and scheduled a session for the summer!

When their scheduled date finally rolled around, we met up at one of my favorite little spots and rocked out a super fun family session. I adore this family and despite the 90+ heat and humidity, everyone put their smiles on and had fun exploring the property.  They even brought their family pup Jake!  A session with dogs is always a bonus

These two in the picture on the left have been together for 8 years and were long overdue to have a picture together.  And sassy Danielle, a follower of my blog and recently a bridesmaid in Kara+Michael’s wedding a few months ago, asked if I had brought along my favorite yellow chair.  You know I couldn’t not break it out then!

Three years ago I photographed Catrina and Dave’s wedding day.  Two years ago the arrival of their little Abby. And last week I documented little baby Maxwell…just two weeks old.  Completely adorable.  Watching families grow is such an amazing part of my occupation!

Catrina and Dave have this lovely overgrown field right behind their house so we started out enjoying the summer morning playing outdoors while Maxwell cuddled up on my trusty yellow chair.

Maxwell’s older sister Abby…I cannot believe this little one is two years old already!

Maxwell’s grandma was spending some time helping the growing family out and there was no way we were letting her leave without some pictures with her new grandson and granddaughter!

I first met this beautiful family last February when I did an adoption photography event to benefit Africa’s Child.  When Aditi contacted me months ago to say they she was now expecting and wanted another family session, I cheered for them!  A true miracle that this little one is on it’s way and what a beautiful family he or she will be greeted with

I adore this next series of shots…Aditi wondered if it might be fun for her to get in the water. ABSOLUTELY!

When I first met these beautiful girls, they spoke very little English but showed me their sweet smiles.  For this session, they chatted, talked and laughed with me.  I just adore these beautiful sisters.

Although I had never officially met little Wade prior to our session last week, I did know of him as I photographed his excited mom and dad as they were expecting…just over two years ago.  Last week, on Wade’s 2nd birthday, I got to meet this little one and capture him as a busy toddler around his beautiful home on the river.  His smile is infectious and I couldn’t get over his adorable curly hair and deep brown eyes.

As Wade was picking some pretty yellow flowers for his mom, he handed them to her and said ‘Happy Mothers Day!’.  Melt your heart adorable!

As I turned my car into the driveway of the little property address James’ mom had given me, I immediately squealed with delight seeing an old barn, lovely fields and was met by Joe Mushroom and Sky…a little white goat and appaloosa horse.  James and his mom showed up a few minutes later and try as we might…tried to get little James to smile and laugh at our antics.

James turned one in early May and although not yet walking without a little help, he was happy to push around his little cart.  We happily played in the fields, pet the animals and walked though the woods.  Even sticking our feet in the little lake attached to their property.  How I love summer!

Meet Joe Mushroom and Sky!  I love horses but now I think I’m going to add wanting goats to my wish list too.
