A frozen lake, a little canoe, and Nicole+Ben…a seriously adorable couple braving the Michigan elements for a Valentine’s-inspired Love Shoot.

For all who have followed this blog in the past year, you have seen Daisy, of Pixel+Hank loveliness, and I collaborate first in June, then in Chicago this past fall and now for a fun winter shoot, this time bringing in talented stylist and event planner Jamie Kirby of HeyDay Event Lab.  I think we have officially been spoiled with her talent and vision and future collaborations are not going to be made possible without her!

Our vision was a winter shoot on a frozen Michigan lake, with reds and pinks popping out over the very white landscape.  Jamie put together an inspiration board (which you can see yourselves on her Facebook fan page) and we called in the talented Stacy Jensen from Blue for hair and Erin France for makeup and asked Nicole and her hubby Ben to be our models.  Nicole owns the Kalamazoo boutique, I Heart Ipanema (a regular stop of mine with some seriously cute fashion and accessories plus fun vintage finds), and her and Ben were naturals for this shoot.  They were also troopers with freezing temperatures and the fact we were shooting upon a frozen lake.  Kudos to you both for being true professionals!
