Sara + Trevor [Wedding Preview] August 15, 2010

Saturday, July 31, 2010 - Ann Arbor, MI
Where do I even start with describing how much I loved this wedding?!
First of all, Sara and Trevor have great vision and style and this wedding…definitely ranks high on my list of favorites for amazing weddings. Their ceremony…a traditional catholic ceremony in Ann Arbor…perfect in every way. Afterward heading to U of M’s campus for some group shots but then…off to the very rustically adorable Misty Farms. A newer venue complete with beautiful barns, chickens (much to my delight and more on that below!), horses and immaculate grounds. There to make it even more amazing? The very fabulous Courtney with Petals Planning Company. I adored her and her staff! Even after the threat of rain had everyone scurrying to make the outdoor cocktail hour an indoor affair, Courtney didn’t miss a beat.
Sara and Trevor have a shared sense of humor and love for each other that I found refreshing and fun to work with. I was more than delighted that I had the honor of capturing this day, of being part of the fun, and seeing their vision come together. Congratulations again to you both!
Vendors:

So after I finished shooting the girls with their pretty parasols it was time for the guys pictures. We walked over to the coop where the chickens were. I casually said “ok guys…everyone grab a chicken and we’ll be ready to start”. Kind of (not really) joking . Guess what? They were totally up for it and the passing out of the chickens was underway. Love!

So Greg is the groomsmen in the below right hand picture. Greg and Lisa were married almost exactly a year ago on Sara and Trevor’s wedding date. Greg and Lisa had one of my favorite weddings last year and as much as I think Greg used to adore me as his wedding photographer, after I made him hold a chicken, I think that shining star I held faded a little.

Before a few more pictures together, Sara bustled and switched her veil for this stunning headpiece. Her bustle, a modern and super cute side bustle.

After dinner, Trevor’s father explained the ‘tying of the knot’ tradition, which Sara and Trevor demonstrated flawlessly

Best.Wedding.Band.Ever.

I am drooling over all the U of M goodness in this wedding. : ) Great job once again, Amy!!
I have been dying to see this preview since I saw the tease photo with the chickens a few weeks ago. What a beautiful wedding! I am loving all of the details, especially the side bustle!! I do have to disagree, however, with the statement about the “best wedding band ever.” (kidding, of course… sorta) GO GREEN!
Love this wedding Amy! The chicken ROCK and the light in that barn is insane!! YOU totally worked it girl!!
xoxo
love it. love it!!
p.s. once we can breath a bit, I would still really like to grab a coffee or beer with you if your down
Amazing photography of that wonderful day. All the joy just shows. I love the way Amy grabs those little details that take so much time and effort but sometimes go unnoticed. What a thrill to have these memories. Loved the chickens!
The pictures are amazing!
Amy, you are not coming to Germany to photograph at my wedding someday, are you?
Maika - I would love to come to Germany to photograph your wedding
Wow, what a great wedding and the pictures are amazing! Nice job!
Beautiful pictures! You captured the spirit of the day!
*love* and what a gorgeous dress!
I’m getting married at Misty Farms in less than 2 weeks. I can’t tell you how excited this post has made me!! I believe we’re even having the same family friend do our flowers. Is there any way I could get in touch with this bride? I would love to pick her brain about a couple of logistics and potentially buy those cute chalkboards from her! Beautiful!
How wonderful! Thank you for sharing. Just fabulous!!!
