Pixel and Hank [Fashion Shoot] June 11, 2010
A few months ago Daisy and I sat down to dinner on a rainy spring evening to chat, catch up and collaborate. Daisy, nearly two years ago, was a client. A fabulously adorable bride getting married at one of my favorite northern Michigan venues, The Homestead. Then, last winter, she sent me a message…this artistic and crafty girl was making hairpieces and started an Etsy store. I immediately clicked on the link and was her first ‘Pixel and Hank‘ customer. I received my hair pieces a few days later and strutted around proudly with my adorable flowered clips. I knew without a doubt we had to do a shoot.
So through a few meetings over martinis and fabulous food, we had a plan. We had a date. We had a basic concept. We would start in the studio and moved into the forest. I couldn’t wait!
My favorite part of this shoot was Daisy rocking it out as a groom. She makes seriously adorable boutineers, so brides-to-be take note! I love her pieces…not just for brides, but for everyday adorableness. And think how fabulous they would be for bridesmaids and flower girls. I peruse her Etsy site often and think I could wear something each day of the week.

Fun Fact: The model on the below left is Bree…also a past client/bride who got married nearly two years ago also at The Homestead. Daisy and Bree have been email friends since planning their days and finally met for the first time at this photo shoot!
Fun Fact #2: I think that Bree is my most photographed client ever! I’ve shot their engagement session, boudoir, wedding, rock the frock, their adorable little one’s newborn session, and then for this shoot. Bree-You rock!
Fun Fact #3: Bree is wearing Daisy’s wedding dress in the below pictures. A little trippy photographing my past bride in my other past bride’s wedding dress. She rocked it out!

These look awesome! As I scrolled through the pictures, I was like “whoa!” I went to college with Daisy! Looks like she’s doing awesome and making a name for herself. Nice work as always Amy!

Hi Flora - The mini white dress is actually vintage and from Daisy’s grandmother’s collection of beautiful vintage clothes. It was actually a pantset, with the ‘dress’ being a tunic.

I adore them all and was so excited to meet little Kinley (I knew after this shoot she was destined to be a beauty)!
