Rachel + Eric : : Preview Gallery June 24, 2009

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Rachel and Eric met their freshman year in high school.  They started talking because they both were wearing the same Van’s (guys) shoes.

10 years later they got married on a Thursday evening in Saugatuck, surrounded by 19 guests.

Rachel and Eric actually had a much larger wedding on a much grander scale planned for last summer.  After things kept going wrong, the guest list growing, and an overall feeling of unease about their plans, they scrapped the big wedding and instead planned a small, perfect, intimate affair in about two months time.  They hired vendors that they felt confident with and told them to just do what they did best.  From the venue, to the flowers, and the wine-pairing dinner, everything turned out exactly as they had hoped.  It was one of the sweetest, truest weddings I have ever attended.  I felt truly blessed to be a part of it.

Ceremony and Reception : : Laketown Golf and Conference Center

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happier or more smiley bride.  Rachel, I love your smile!

Before Rachel and Eric saw each other prior to the ceremony, Eric was a self-proclaimed ball of nerves.  As soon as he saw his smiley bride-to-be, he was completely cool.

One of my favorite parts of this ceremony was that Rachel and Eric chose to walk down the aisle together.

A new spin on the sand ceremony…Rachel and Eric had a ’soil’ ceremony, collecting soil from all of the important places they have lived and traveled to.  They combined the soil, giving a brief explanation of where each one had come from, into a larger vase where they will grow something together.

This reception, held in the library room of Laketown, was amazing.  Each course of amazing food paired with a wine.  This couple loves wine and discovered it together and wanted to share it with their loved ones.  Each course was from a different part of the world..loved it!

The pictures are fabulous! They should be in a magazine.

The pictures are wonderful! They look like they are from a magazine! I especially love the B&W of Rachel standing behind Eric and them kissing on the gazebo after the ceremony. I absolutely love the color picture of them sitting in a field of daisies! Thank you Amy! You are an amazing photographer!
